[1] ASHARAF....includes all decendents of foriegn muslims ... Arabs , Persian ,Afgaans etc .and also converts from upper class hindus.........Asharafs includes 'Sayyads' ,'shiekhs' 'Mughals' and 'Pathans'
[2] AJLAFS ....From conversions of lower castes hindus .... ajlaf means wretches or mean people. they are also called 'itar' 'base' or 'rasil' i.e...'worthless'. these include various functional castes such as 'weavers' 'tailors' etc . some maintained their titles like tomar ,chandel ,chauhan etc .
[3] ARZALS ...Term arzal stands for ' degraded' ..... this group was first recorded in the 1901 census in india and were also called ' dalit muslims' with whom no other mohammdan would associate and who are forbiden to enter the mosque or to use ' public burrial grounds ' they carry scavenging and carry night soil . to few extent untouchability is found. these are further divided ....'bhanar', 'kasbi' 'halbegi' 'halalkhor' 'hizra' maugta' and 'mehtar'/
